Acai Berry Bowl Recipe

Here's a recipe for an Acai Berry Bowl, a nutritious and delicious treat that's perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packets (100g each) of frozen acai berry puree, unsweetened
  • 1 ripe red banana
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (like  gooseberry, raspberries, strawberries)
  • 1/2 cup spinach or kale for added greens (optional)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or coconut milk, (adjust for desired thickness)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Toppings:
    • Sliced fresh fruits (such as red banana, dragon fruit, golden kiwi)
    • Granola or muesli
    • Chia seeds, flax seeds, or hemp seeds
    • Coconut flakes
    • Nut butter or yogurt, for added protein
    • Drizzle of honey or agave syrup, if desired

Instructions:

  1. Blend the Base:

    • Let the frozen acai puree soften slightly at room temperature for a few minutes.
    • In a blender, combine the acai puree, banana, mixed berries, and spinach/kale if using.
    • Add the almond milk (or your choice of liquid) and honey/agave syrup.
    • Blend until smooth. The consistency should be thicker than a smoothie, similar to a soft-serve ice cream.
  2. Prepare the Bowl:

    • Pour the acai mixture into a bowl.
  3. Add Toppings:

    • Arrange your chosen toppings over the acai mixture. You can create a beautiful pattern with sliced fruits, sprinkle granola for crunch, add seeds for extra nutrients, and finish with a dollop of nut butter or yogurt for protein.
  4. Serve Immediately:

    • Enjoy your acai bowl right away while it's cold and fresh.

This Acai Berry Bowl is a powerhouse of nutrients, packed with antioxidants from the acai and berries, potassium from the banana, and additional vitamins if you include leafy greens. The toppings not only add texture and flavour but also contribute additional health benefits, making it a fully customisable and satisfying meal.
